The AGEST Trustee Office employs a number of staff to manage key areas of the fund, including service delivery, investments, compliance, oversight of our various service providers and more.  The key roles and current staff are listed below, along with disclosure of our Senior Executive remuneration.

Chief Executive

Cath Bowtell is the fund’s Chief Executive Officer. Cath has ultimate responsibility for the management of the fund, managing all day-to-day fund issues, providing recommendations to the Directors in relation to the fund's strategy, operations and management of service providers. She also acts as the Company Secretary and Public Officer of the Trustee.

Cath was appointed as Chief Executive in November 2010. Prior to joining AGEST as CEO Cath worked with the ACTU where her responsibilities included superannuation policy, and she served as a Director of AGEST from 2005 until May 2010.

 

Operations Manager

Anthony Beamish is our Operations Manager. Anthony joined the Trustee office in June 2003 and has worked in various fund administration roles. He is based in Melbourne. His primary role is to work with our administration provider to ensure that the services provided to our members and employers are of high quality. He also manages other functions such as our website development and maintenance and various fund documents (including our member statements).

 

Compliance and Risk Manager

Raj Malhotra is our Compliance and Risk Manager. Raj joined the fund in April 2008 and is based in Melbourne.

His role is to develop and maintain compliance and administrative systems to ensure that:

  • the fund operates in accordance with all Trust Deed and legislative requirements
  • processes are in place to monitor risks within the fund and all service providers.

 

Member Services Manager

Louise Aracas is our Member Services Manager and she is based in Melbourne. Louise has previously worked in a financial planning role.

Her role is to focus on the following:

  • member education material, particularly on the website
  • educational seminars across the country
  • assisting members with information on the products that we offer
  • new member servicing initiatives.

 

Insurance Claims Officer

Elizabeth Raczynski is our Insurance Claims Officer. Elizabeth joined the fund in September 2005 and is based in Melbourne. Elizabeth's primary role is to oversee and assist our administration team in managing death and disablement claims. She is also responsible for other Trustee office functions such as industry surveys and basic website maintenance.



Office Manager

Andrea Rose is our Trustee Office Manager. Andrea joined the fund in October 2009 and is based in Melbourne. She is responsible for numerous Trustee office functions such as accounts payable, event management and office administration.


Finance Officer

Neil Wilson is AGEST's Finance Officer. Neil joined the fund in April 2011 and is based in Melbourne. He is responsible for the management of fund finances. This includes management of the funds budget, preparation of financial statements and responsibility for the annual fund audit.

 

Senior Manager - Investments

Richard Friend is our Senior Manager of Investments. Richard joined the fund in May 2011 and he is based in Melbourne. His role includes dealing with the fund's custodian on all investment administration matters and implementation of investment decisions.

 

Executive Remuneration

The remuneration of the CEO is set by the Board. All other staff remuneration is set by the CEO within the budget approved by the Board.

Consistent with the fund’s expectation of the companies within which we invest, Senior Executive pay is disclosed as follows:
