AGEST and AQR
AGEST employs AQR to manage part of the international shares portfolio of the fund.
Objective and Strategy
Objective
AQR seeks to outperform the MSCI World Total Return Index with Net Dividends Unhedged in U.S. Dollars while controlling its tracking error relative to this benchmark.
*The MSCI World Index measures the performance of major sharemarkets around the world, with each sharemarket's performance contributing to the index in proportion to its relative size by market capitalization. Dividends paid by companies are included in this calculation of performance.
Strategy
AQR develops a ranking for each stock in the investable universe using a disciplined, systematic approach to analyze a wide variety of factors based on the underlying philosophy of value and momentum.
AQR develops an independent view of the attractiveness of countries and currencies as an overlay to the selection of individual stocks.
AQR combines these rankings into a portfolio that takes into account trading costs and liquidity considerations. AQR rebalances the portfolio in a manner that seeks to create a balance between keeping the portfolio in line with the ideal desired portfolio and the need to minimize trading costs.
