AGEST and Taube Hodson Stonex (THS)

AGEST has employed THS to manage part of the international shares portfolio of the fund via the THS Partners Global Equity Fund.
 

Objective and Strategy

Objective
THS does not have regard to the MSCI World Total Return Index* when investing, as it is benchmark unaware.  However they do report results compared to this index and aim to outperform the index over the long term (at least 5 - 7 years).

*The MSCI World Total Return Index measures the performance of major sharemarkets around the world, with each sharemarket's performance contributing to the index in proportion to its relative size by market capitalization.  Dividends paid by companies are included in this calculation of performance. 
 

Strategy
THS uses conventional financial ratios as well as industrial valuation metrics to value companies.

The Fund is actively managed using a bottom-up investment approach.  THS believe in long term fundamental research of stocks, based on financial and industrial measures of value.

THS has a low turnover ratio and does not mind taking contrarian positions.  Typically 70 - 80 stocks are held in the portfolio.
